Important Chamber Update

Dear Chamber Members and Partners,
We hope this message finds you all emerging from the recent storm and looking forward to returning to business.  Every business and resident in our community has been impacted by this unexpected challenge, and yet, we rise again as our unofficial anthem reminds us.
Today, we write to inform you that our CEO, Jenna Lahey, has tendered her resignation effective today, and the Executive Committee accepted the resignation on behalf of the Board of Directors.
The Board would like to express our deepest appreciation to Jenna for the effort and energy she brought to her role during her tenure as CEO.  Under Jenna, the Governance and Finance Committees were re-activated to bring renewed growth potential for the Chamber’s future, many internal processes were streamlined and improved, and she revived the Chamber Travel and Education programs that were heavily reduced because of COVID shutdowns.  We wish Jenna great joy and adventure in the next role where she chooses to contribute her many talents.
Our recruitment efforts for a new CEO will start immediately. Since we know great recruitment is often the result of personal recommendations, please feel free to encourage the A-Players in your network to consider applying for this important and dynamic leadership opportunity.
The Board is working with Melissa and Megan to continue the day-to-day operations and special events we have planned.  We want to recognize the unwavering support we are receiving from Melissa and Megan and if you get a moment to thank them, we would appreciate your encouragement.
Our commitment to empowering businesses to thrive in the CBRM remains steadfast, and this challenge will not diminish our passion.
Please join us in thanking Jenna for her service.

Best regards,

Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
