Nominations Now Open for the 2024 Cape Breton Business and Philanthropy Hall of Fame

April 23, 2024

The Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Cape Breton University and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Nova Scotia Chapter, is thrilled to announce that nominations are now open for the 2024 Cape Breton Business and Philanthropy Hall of Fame.

This important event celebrates Cape Breton’s most esteemed business leaders and community-focused philanthropists annually. The date for this year’s gala will be announced soon, with updates available on the Chamber’s website and social media channels.

The Cape Breton Business and Philanthropy Hall of Fame seeks to recognize individuals who exemplify extraordinary business success, demonstrate superior leadership values, show a strong commitment to giving back to the community, and have a lasting legacy of achievement. Nominations will be accepted until May 12th, 2024.

Last year, the Philanthropy Leadership Award was introduced to honor individuals and groups who had a profound effect on the philanthropic sector in Cape Breton in the previous year through fundraising, volunteering, and inspiring others to donate. This award recognizes individuals and groups who have made significant philanthropic contributions despite it not being the primary objective of their career or organization.

To nominate a deserving individual/group or learn more about the nomination process, please visit the Chamber’s website at cbregionalchamber.ca/events/overview/2024hof/.

Since its inception in 2002, the Cape Breton Business Hall of Fame has honored outstanding individuals who have paved the way for future generations through their business acumen and community engagement. In 2016, the Hall of Fame expanded its mandate to include philanthropic leaders, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the region’s charitable landscape.
