The Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce to Host Advantage Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Conference in April 2022
The Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Centre for Women in Business, is excited to host, in person, the 2nd Annual Advantage Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Conference presented by Scotiabank, being held on Friday, April 29th, 2022 at The Holiday Inn Sydney Waterfront.
Despite the inaugural Advantage Conference being held virtually in 2021, the event successfully created a space that empowered, inspired, and motivated more than 150 women to Own Their Power.
The theme for 2022’s Advantage Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Conference will focus on Courageous Conversations, with the goal to raise women up, have conversations about topics that are often considered taboo, increase awareness about women empowerment and gender equity throughout our community, and leave feeling inspired and supported by the journeys and experiences of one another.
This full-day conference will feature panels including “The Advantage of Cheering One Another On”, “The Advantage of Not Letting Your Past Be Your Anchor”, and “The Advantage of Owning Your Voice”, among others, while featuring female speakers from various industries across Cape Breton Island who will create honest and authentic conversations for women everywhere.
The day will culminate with a keynote by Tina Varughese, a cross-cultural communication and diversity expert, and one of “Canada’s Top 10 Notable Speakers” by Ignite Magazine for her ability to break down barriers and create a comfortable, inclusive, and fun space for attendees.
“We’re so excited to be able to host this conference in person this year”, says Melissa Vickers, Events Coordinator for the Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We’re seeing a strong emergence of female entrepreneurs and leaders right here in Cape Breton, and we wanted to bring women together to inspire, empower, learn and grow together through discussions around the important shift that is happening with women in the world of business and entrepreneurship. This event is to showcase that in 2022, being a woman is an ADVANTAGE!”
Limited tickets are available for Advantage 2022, and go on sale Thursday, March 10th, 2022, and can be purchased at https://advantage2022.eventbrite.ca. Tickets are $150 +HST, and includes an Advantage Swag Bag featuring products from female entrepreneurs across Cape Breton Island, an “Advantage Pass” filled with discounts for local businesses, a light breakfast, lunch, all-day programming, appetizers and a drink ticket for the cocktail hour after the event.
