Requirements: Must be currently employed or self-employed in Nova Scotia and have completed Financial Fundamentals Level 1.
Course Description
Financial Fundamentals is a program that will guide you through the basics of the financial aspect of your business. Starting with key accounting terminology, this course will go on to teach you bookkeeping basics, the ability to read, analyze and make financial decisions based on your company’s financial statements, and how to comply with government reporting requirements, setting you and your business up for success.

- Define key accounting terms
- List the components of basic bookkeeping – debits, credits, journal entries, and different options for accounting systems
- Read, prepare and improve basic financial statements – income statement, trial balance, and balance sheet
